Packaged in a heavy glass bottle (in a production of a limited 2,000 bottles), the Quintodecimo 2015 Taurasi Riserva Vigna Grande Cerzito is a dense and richly concentrated expression that provides an ample platform for aromas of ripe cherry, dried blackberry, sweet spice, tobacco and savory campfire ash. There is an almost sticky point to the fruit that definitely recalls the sunny and warm conditions of this vintage. It tastes like dried cherry skin or plum, and there is some sweet cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled within. This wine shows a lot of plush hot-vintage ripeness.

Luigi Moio makes some of the very best wines you will taste from Campania. This is a benchmark estate for the region and indeed for the country. After gaining his master's and PhD in agricultural science, with prolonged research in Burgundy, Professor Moio established this estate in 2001 in Irpinia. Today, it counts 30 hectares of land, including 22 hectares that are planted to vines. I absolutely recommend these excellent and exciting new releases from Quintodecimo. The estate produces six wines: three reds and three whites. All are truly excellent, as you can gather from my enthusiastic mid-90s scoring across the board.
