93+ points - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, November 2020
The Fattoi 2016 Brunello di Montalcino shows a slightly darker appearance when compared to many of its peers from the same vintage. The wine also delivers more black fruit aromas, as opposed to red fruit, and it adds thick layers of spice, tar, aniseed and balsam herb to the larger tapestry. This wine gets its fruit from 25-year-old vines, and I think we can still squeeze out more complexity and depth with time. To be honest, I found the wine a little closed at this young stage, but I endeavored to taste past that. Production is 34,000 bottles. - Monica Larner
